This piece was an anchor for The Year of Six Seasons since it's earliest inception. I took the photograph while on an artist residency in Austmarka, Norway one snowy March night in 2016, the year I began thinking about the sensation, or state, that the show's title suggests. I've printed it at various sizes over the years, always envisioning light passing through it somehow. The fragile and thin rice paper lets the photograph glow like a backlit sky, and change with the times of day. It sways with the breeze, the two panels revealing the light between their seam, and you sort of end up dancing along with it.
